Is Babylon the Great the Catholic church?

The Vatican is referred to as the city of seven hills. The Crusades was possible the largest macre in history facilitated by the Roman Catholic church. In light of recent molestation by priests and other things, is Babylon the Great actually the Catholic church? What are your thoughts? i just recently picked up a Catholic bible and read that one of the books was inspired by the spirit of Samuel...dude, that creeped me out. I think that the book was Machabees...tell me if I'm wrong but I know that the very end of the Bible (revelation 22:19) says that if anyone adds or takes away from it that they will not have a place in the book of life.
