Should I get Dentures....?

Presently I have two teeth aching. I am 39 and sick and tired of my teeth aching, the sensations I get from hot/cold items and the unending teeth grinding I do on a nightly basis. I have always gone to the dentist since I was a kid, have had mouthguards, root cs, gold crowns, fillings, etc. I've paid my dentist thousands of dollars!!! I know with the two teeth hurting now, he's going to want to do a root c. I've already had 4 back teeth pulled because I HATE root cs and I doubt he'll be able to pull the other two back teeth. Should I just get dentures? My mother had them at 50 and I'm quit certain I'm going to end up with them any way at some point in my life, so why pay for more root cs?? Should I just get it over with and have dentures?? Also, can you tell me if they put you to sleep when they extract the teeth and how painful it is???
