My starter continues to grind after starting like the starter is not disengaging in a 93 explorer. Any ideas?

Originally would click once and not start. I have replaced the starter, solenoid, and positive battery cable. Now it starts, but it makes a loud grinding sound after starting like the starter will not disengage.
